Olivetta’s balsamic vinegars are aged for five years in oak barrels with Grape ‘must’ added at the end to impart a naturally sweet, lingering finish. The particular grape extract used is made from Black Corinth grapes grown in the Peleponnese in Southern Greece.

Tasting Notes

An initial burst of ripe raisin sweetness greets the palate followed by a velvety, balanced acidity. Our Black Balsamic Vinegar offers a rich, layered flavour without tipping into excessive tartness or cloying sweetness. You’ll notice hints of ruby berries, golden nectar, and preserved pear that linger delicately.

Use and Storage

Our vinegars are preserved in opaque packaging to protect them from light. Best kept in a cool place away from heat. Consume before the Use By Date and within 3 months of opening the bottle.

How To Use

Olivetta Black Balsamic Vinegar goes perfectly with salads, roasted vegetables, meat and fish. It works particularly well as a marinade and when used to finish dishes or in a salad dressing. Given the gentle sweetness and acidity, it loves to be added to summer fruits. And of course it forms part of the holy trinity of bread dipping on the lunch or dinner table: salt, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
