Provenance

The olives that produced this oil were grown near Pylos in the Peloponnese in Southern Greece. This area is regarded as having the ideal terroir for growing the Koreneiki olive, where trees dating back more than 1,000 years are still producing fruit. The first written evidence about the production of olive oil comes from this region, mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey.

Tasting Notes

Look for fruity green flavours with floral notes, notably green tomato and cut grass characteristics. Expect citrus aromas with red pepper undertones. Seek out the bitter pungency that denotes a powerful extra virgin olive oil. Very well balanced and complex.

How To Use

Robust Extra Virgin Olive Oil can be used for grilling, baking and frying. When used to drizzle, it pairs particularly well with milder tasting dishes such as green salads, grilled white meat, fish and vegetable soups, which all provide a subtle canvas to savour the complex and robust nature of the oil. It is also very good for dipping.

Use and Storage

Our oil is preserved in opaque packaging to protect it from light, which destroys the benefits contained within the oil. Best kept in a cool place away from heat. Consume before the Use By Date and within 3 months of opening the bottle.
