Provenance

The olives that produced this oil were grown in the ancient olive groves of Messinia near the town of Kalamata in the Peloponnese, Southern Greece. The combination of terroir and weather conditions for this harvest have produced an oil that is more delicate in nature and allows the natural flavourings to shine through.

Tasting Notes

Olivetta’s Basil Flavoured Extra Virgin Olive Oil delivers a burst of fresh herbs on the nose. It has a peppery freshness that is both clean and fragrant, adding a gentle sweetness and slight spice to a dish.

How to Use

This is a very versatile flavoured olive oil. Use it in the traditional way to finish a Caprese salad or to drizzle over a Margherita pizza. It works wonderfully with delicate fish dishes and fresh spring vegetables. As a dessert, it makes a delicious basil ice cream served alongside fresh balsamic-infused strawberries.

Use and Storage

Our oils are preserved in opaque packaging to protect them from light, which destroys the benefits contained in the oil. Best kept in a cool place away from heat. Consume before the Use By Date and within 3 months of opening the bottle.
